Wild Coast Horses is more than just riding; it’s about connection - with your horse, the land and the local culture. Whether you choose the Wild Coast Trail, the Wild Coast Meander or the Mini Beach Trail, each route has its own rhythm and character.

From long beach rides and hidden waterfalls to relaxed evenings in welcoming lodges, each day offers a balance of adventure and relaxation. With comfortable stays and experienced guides, this is a journey you won’t forget.

What to expect?

Wild Coast Horses offers three different trails you can choose from:

  • Wild Coast Trail (7 nights / 8 days) – Their most popular trail for strong intermediate and experienced riders only. Explore the rugged, unspoiled natural beauty of the Wild Coast of South Africa. Miles and miles of empty beaches, remote rural villages, spectacular countryside and fantastic riding!

  • Wild Coast Meander (7 nights / 8 days) – An alternative itinerary for those who want a little more than a Mini Trail but not as much as the Wild Coast Horse Trail. This is a lovely riding holiday, with just enough adventure and a good mix of riding and relaxing. This trail is suitable for confident novice, intermediate and experienced riders.

  • Mini Beach Trail (4 nights / 5 days) – A short yet unforgettable riding holiday, taking you through inland trails and along open beaches. Suitable for riders of all levels, but most enjoyable for those with intermediate experience and above.

Please note: all riding and itineraries are subject to change due to variations in local conditions, hotel accommodation availability, riders' abilities, the weather, influences of the sea tides and the conditions of the rivers at the time of riding.

Accommodatie

Comfortable and welcoming, Kei Mouth Guest Lodge offers three ensuite rooms with private patios and a spacious two-bedroom apartment upstairs. A great place to unwind, relax after a day’s ride and enjoy the calm pace of the Wild Coast.

After a long day in the saddle, it’s the perfect place to relax, share stories and fall asleep to the sound of the waves.

Destination

The Wild Coast, located in South Africa’s Eastern Cape, stretches from East London northwards to Port Edward at the KwaZulu-Natal border. This remote region is known for its dramatic coastline, with steep green hills, rugged cliffs and pristine, untouched beaches. Forests, powerful waves and historic shipwrecks add to its wild, untamed character, making it one of the country’s most striking coastal landscapes.
